About Megan

Megan is a lighting designer and electrician currently based out of Tampa, FL. Her love for theatre began in high school, when she was pulled into the school’s drama club. This is where she got to experience lighting design for the first time, and she immediately knew it was what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Lighting is amazing to Megan because it is so crucial to a live theatrical performance, yet the job is best done if the lighting goes unnoticed, blending in with the story. Megan’s goal is to continue doing what she loves, and be a part of the process for providing live entertainment to curious crowds.
Megan studied at the University of South Florida and graduated with her B.A. in July of 2024. She has worked at several theatres and festivals around the Tampa Bay area, even ranging further in Florida working in the Palm Beach and Treasure Coast areas. The first place she had freedom to practice lighting design on her own was volunteering at The Barn Theatre in Stuart, where she provided lighting designs to several of their shows over the years. Having the opportunity to go on tour, Megan has worked all over the country including California, Arizona, Ohio, New Jersey, and several more. Her favorite part about traveling for work is having the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from different backgrounds.
